Columbus police say multiple teens were arrested Wednesday night after officers said they spotted a car allegedly stolen in an armed robbery.
Police said the incident started in the area of Oakland Park Avenue and Cleveland Avenue at around 6:20 p.m. on Oct. 20. Officers reported recognizing the vehicle as one matching a Jeep stolen out of an armed robbery. Officers also said they recognized one of the occupants as having a felony warrant.
According to police, the Jeep sped away as officers tried to stop it. Later, police said they waited for them in the 2000 block of Marcia Drive and the suspects fled the Jeep.
Police arrested five teens all 17-years-old and younger after a foot chase.
Officers said a gun was recovered that they believe was discarded by one of the teens.
Police described the suspects as:
- A 14-year-old girl with outstanding felony warrants for Robbery & Receiving Stolen Property.
- A 16-year-old boy with outstanding felony warrants for Aggravated Robbery, Robbery, Kidnapping, 2 counts of Felonious Assault, Tampering with Evidence, Theft, 4 counts of Receiving Stolen Property, Breaking & Entering.
- A 17-year-old boy with outstanding felony warrants for Receiving Stolen Property.
- A 14-year-old girl who’s been arrested twice before. Both times-Receiving Stolen Property-Auto.
- A 15-year-old boy arrested in August-Receiving Stolen Property-Auto & Failure To Comply.
