Report: Liverpool, Manchester United And PSG All Offered Ansu Fati 'More Than Double'Wage Before Signing New Barcelona Contract
Liverpool were amongst three clubs to have offered Barcelona's Ansu Fati a mouth-watering wage before he signed new contract.
According Cadena COPE, Liverpool, Manchester United And PSG attempted to lure Asu Fati from Barcelona by doubling his wage.
Last week, Barcelona were able to tie down their superstar winger Ansu Fati to a new deal. This was all in response to the interest coming in from elsewhere.
Liverpool, Manchester United and PSG all made a move before the new contract was given. This forced the Spanish giants hand to make sure Fati stays a Barca player.
With Lionel Messi leaving Barcelona in the Summer, the last thing the Catalan team would want is to lose one of the most talented youngsters.
Firstly, this means FSG do have money to help us sign superstars. I'm hoping they continue to do so in the Summer transfer window. It's needed.
Secondly, it shows that we are looking to get a forward. Whether it's to replace once of the front three or to add to it. We are looking to get one.
I'm liking the ambition. If this report is true then I'm taken back a bit. We don't normally show our power like this when it comes to transfers and signing players.
Maybe FSG may change their ways this Summer. Maybe they realise that the team is ageing and does need a revamp.
Signing okay players isn't good enough anymore. We need world class players or potentially world class players.
Time will only tell.
