With all that Insta eye candy — wooden boards piled high with cheese, meat, fruit, chocolate –what’s a board lover with no building skills to do?

If you’re in the Tri-Valley, you can take your board envy to Pleasanton, where mother-daughter duo Denise and Kayla Ashtiani have opened a beautiful storefront for their catering business, The Board Room, at 301 Old Bernal Ave.

The Board Room launched its soft opening this week, with hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Saturday. The business — they sell a variety of colorful grazing boards, picnic boxes and crudite platters — is primarily via online pre-order and pick up. But the Ashtianis have set up four tables inside the light-filled space and two outside for customers who want to stay and enjoy their nibbles.

The menu features the Just For You picnic box (1 person, $17), Small Picnic Box (2 people, $27), The Plate (2 people, $30) and The Grazing Board (4 people, $90). Boards are filled with a variety of seasonal items, including fresh fruit, local cheeses, charcuterie, honeycomb, jams, bread and crackers.

Want wine with that? They are currently offering Livermore Valley’s Wente Vineyards wines by the glass ($9-$17) and bottle ($30-$40), as well as two local beers, Gilman Brewing ($7) and Ballast Point ($5).
