A woman crashed her Kia Soul into the storefront of the 7/11 on 500 N. University Ave. in Provo at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Lesly Franco, a native of Spain, said she was about to park in front of the 7/11 and accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brakes. Franco’s car managed to go entirely inside the store, and the Provo Fire Department towed it out at 11:30 a.m.

Franco’s son joined the scene shortly after, and a tow truck came to remove her car after police and fire department officials left the scene.

The sliding doors at the front of the store were completely ripped off and shattered glass littered the floor. The car’s airbags did not go off, and no injuries were sustained. Franco said she was grateful that there was no one in front of the car when she accidentally drove into the store.

7/11 employees did not want to comment on the situation at the time.
