REDDING, Calif. —
A late-night police pursuit in a stolen car ended with a crash in east Redding on Wednesday.

The pursuit came to an end when a stolen white Nissan became disabled on Old Alturas Road near Friendly Road.
A California Highway Patrol helicopter was circling overhead but the driver got away, according to the Redding Police Department.
The pursuit started around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday night when another vehicle was burglarized on the 4800 block of Squirrel Run Ct.
Officers tried to stop the suspect who refused to pull over and took off. The pursuit was called off because it became too dangerous for the public.

The white Nissan was first reported stolen on October 15, according to the Redding Police Department.
