The Milwaukee Bucks won't be taking any chances with Jrue Holiday on Thursday against the Miami Heat. Per Jim Owczarski, Mike Budenholzer has ruled Holiday out:

The Bucks guard suffered the heel injury on Tuesday in his team's big Opening Night win over Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets. Holiday exited at halftime after scoring 12 points in the first half. The former UCLA star underwent an MRI on Wednesday and it came back clean which is a great sign for the Bucks.

There's no doubting Holiday's importance to Milwaukee on both ends of the floor. He was a key piece of their title run in 2021 and they will definitely need him healthy in order to run it back. With Holiday out, Pat Connaughton, George Hill, and Jordan Nwora should see increased minutes against Miami. Nwora was brilliant vs. Brooklyn, pouring in 15 points and proving that he could potentially be another weapon off the bench for the Bucks this season.

As for Thursday's matchup, the Heat will be looking for revenge after the Bucks swept them in the first round of the postseason just a number of months ago. With Holiday not in the rotation, it will definitely be seen as a boost to Jimmy Butler and Co.
