Jessica Eye has been forced out of her upcoming fight on Nov. 13 after the former flyweight title contender was hospitalized just recently with an illness.

With Eye sidelined, Cynthia Calvillo has been tapped as a replacement and now she’ll face off with Andrea lee at the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in November.

Multiple sources confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Tuesday with verbal agreements in place from both athletes. MMA Junkie initially reported the switch.

Calvillo will look to bounce back after dropping back-to-back fights for the first time in her career following losses to Jessica Andrade and Katlyn Chookagian in her two most recent appearances in the octagon.

Prior to those fights, Calvillo made a successful debut at 125 pounds with a unanimous decision win over Eye, which immediately made her a contender in the division.

Now she’ll look to get back in the win column while facing off with Lee, who is coming off an impressive submission finish against Antonina Shevchenko in her last outing at UFC 262 in May.

That win helped Lee put a stop to a three-fight losing streak dating back to 2019.

Once Calvillo vs. Lee is finalized, the flyweight fight will join a lineup on Nov. 13 with the main event pitting former featherweight champion Max Holloway against Yair Rodriguez.
