BEREA, Ohio -- Whether it was trick-or-treating on the trails, or costumed characters and kids simply seeking fun and fresh air, large crowds of people came to Coe Lake in Berea for the annual Harvest Festival Oct. 16.
Families filled the amphitheater seats to watch the Rick Smith Jr. magic show, while others lined up for face painting, food trucks, bouncy inflatables, photo opportunities and more.
CLE Market provided booths where local artists and crafters offered unique wares for sale. A hay maze and mini pumpkin patch also added to the autumn atmosphere.
More than 1,200 free tickets were distributed to Berea City School District kids for specific times to travel the trails and fill their bags with goodies.
Berea Administrator of Special Events Megan Pochatek walked the trails with her kids, stopping to share her thoughts along the way.
“Every year, it gets bigger,” Pochatek told cleveland.com. “More and more people come to enjoy it, and there is such a sense of community.
“It’s just fun for everyone to be together and enjoy the fall season,” she said, noting that one Berea community event seems to flow into another all year long.
“The trick-or-treat part is the most fun for the kids, I think, but we have so much for them to do. It’s just endless.”
