HARTVILLE – Village Council approved a Board of Zoning Appeals recommendation to allow a conditional use variance for Out Rage Rage  Room at 1277 W. Maple St. at its Oct. 5 regular meeting.

Company owner Kevin Liska, who also owns Armed and Legal, a concealed carry permit certification training program, described the Rage Room as a recreation room for people to act out aggressive feelings in a safe environment. He said no firearms are used at the Armed and Legal or Out Rage Hartville location.

Councilwoman Bev Green asked if the company is fully insuranced and Liska said it is. The conditional zoning use will allow for recreational activity in a business district.

In other business, Council:

• Approved the 1-year renewal of the village cleaning contract with Carol Brown at a cost of $115 per weekly cleaning. Mayor Cynthia Billings said this represents a $10 per cleaning increase, the first Brown has requested since first being hired by the village.

• Announced Trick or Treat in the village from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 31.
