October Security Update Lands For Galaxy A52 5G & Unlocked Z Fold 2

A couple of Samsung Galaxy devices are picking up the latest October 2021 security update. Notably, the devices that are in for a treat are the Galaxy A52 5G and the unlocked variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

Samsung has been pretty consistent in rolling out the latest software update for its devices. Right from the start of the month, Samsung has already updated a bunch of its devices with the latest security patch.

This is nice to see because a lot of the other brands haven’t still pushed the September 2021 security update for their devices. Take OnePlus for example.

Talking about the update for the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G, a few days ago, the 4G variant of the A52 smartphone was served with the latest October 2021 security patch.

Fast forward to now, users in different European countries are getting the October 2021 security update on their Galaxy A52 5G. Additional markets are expected to join soon.

The update comes with firmware version A526BXXU1AUJ2 and simply bumps the security patch level to October 1, 2021. General bug fixes and devices’ stability improvements shouldn’t be missed out as well.

Galaxy A52 5G was launched alongside the Galaxy A52 4G variant earlier this year. It came with the Android 11 One UI 3.0 update. Later it bagged the One UI 3.1.1 update a couple of months ago.

Galaxy Z Fold 2 October security patch is arriving for users in the US

The update rolling out for the unlocked Galaxy Z Fold 2 units is live for users in the US. According to SamMobile, the update carries the firmware version F916U1UES2EUI3.

Just like the October security update for the Galaxy A52 5G, the update for Galaxy Z Fold 2 is also purely incremental in nature. It simply updates the security patch level with the latest one.

It is important that you update your devices with the latest security patch. Because as per Samsung, it fixes over 60 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. More information on this could be found on the Samsung Security Bulletin page.

Moreover, if you have eligible devices, then you can manually check for the update. For that, simply head over to Settings > Software updates > Download and install.

If your phone detects a new update, then it will show you an update notification. Tap on it to begin the download of the update. Make sure that you are using a stable internet or Wi-Fi connection to download the update to avoid errors.
