The Next Generation of the Friends of the Salzburg Festival Announces New Leadership

By David Salazar

The Next Generation of the Friends of the Salzburg Festival will have new leadership.

Per a press statement, Christian Renner and Ulrike Köstinger will be taking over the chairmanship from Carl Philipp Spängler, who co-founded the organization back in 2008 and has led it since.

Renner, who is the CMO of UKO Group, will take over the role of Chairman while Köstinger, the CCO of Operabase and CueTV, will become Vice Chair / Chairwoman.

“We favor a progressive, dynamic side of the Salzburg Festival and it is our task to get young people enthusiastic about the Salzburg Festival,” Renner said in an official press statement.”A membership in our association makes all the difference – on the one hand to get the coveted / precious tickets and on the other hand to be able to look behind the scenes of the Salzburg Festival.”

“Together we want to bring culture and especially the Salzburg Festival closer to our generation. In times when solidarity and social commitment have become something very special, we will continue to enrich the Next Generation with these values and establish an international community that meets every summer in Salzburg and experiences special events and moments either as a member of the audience or behind the curtain,” added Köstinger.

The Next Generation of Friends of the Salzburg Festival averages annual funding contributions of 80,000 euros and ticket purchases of 120,000 euros in support of the Salzburg Festival.
