Bethesda has dropped a new trailer for upcoming space-faring RPG Starfield, focusing on The Settled Systems.

The video features the game’s design director Emil Pagliarulo, who talks on the setting and universe that the game takes place in. The Settled Systems are a cluster of planets and stars approximately 50 years from our solar system. It’s the year 2330, and twenty years since a bloody colony war between the United Colonies and the Freestar Collective.

Two decades later, the two factions now share an uneasy peace. However, the Settled Systems aren’t entirely, well, settled, as they’re still patrolled by several dangerous groups. These include the Ecliptic Mercenaries, the Pirates of the Crimson Fleet and the House of Arun. Then, there’s you – a new member of the group Constellation, whose whole deal is uncovering the mysteries of the galaxy. Better pack those space boots.

Starfield was formally re-revealed back in June by Bethesda. It’s the first new universe in 25 years from the creators of The Elder Scrolls, and promises exploration with “unparalleled freedom” as you uncover the secrets of humanity. Back in August, we also got our first look at three of the specific locations you’ll get to explore on your journey.
