Mr. Gary Edward Norris of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Albany, Kentucky passed away Monday, October 18, 2021, in Louisville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 75 years, 3 months, and 19 days. He was born in Albany, Kentucky on Saturday, June 29, 1946, the son of Herbert and Vernetta (Goble) Norris. He was Christian, a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War, worked for Huber Tire as a sales representative, and was a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Bennie James Higginbotham.
He is survived by his wife, Ronda (Higginbotham) Norris of Louisville, Kentucky, whom he wed on Thursday, August 12, 1965, children, Eddie (& Karen) Norris of Burkesville, Kentucky, James (& Helen) Norris of Louisville, Kentucky, siblings, Lanny Norris of Albany, Kentucky, Barb Delk of Franklin, Kentucky, Lyle (& Linda) Norris of Albany, Kentucky, Joe Buck of Byrdstown, Tennessee, Frankie (Anna) Norris of Albany, Kentucky, grandchildren, Stephanie Marie (& T.J.) Shelton, Brittany Danielle Norris, Lauren Jenelle (& Daniel) Duvall, Brianna Marie Norris.
The funeral service for Mr. Norris will be conducted on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 12:00 noon in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home in Burkesville, Kentucky with Sister Darlene Blakely, and Brother Gary Cash officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 22, 2021 after 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Smith Grove Cemetery in Cumberland County, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers the family suggest contributions to the Smith Grove Cemetery Fund, C/O Kathy Mosby, 110 Mosby Dr. Burkesville, Ky. 42717, in his memory.
