Michelle Yi, a contestant from season 16 of the television reality/game show “Survivor,” was attacked Thursday outside a Santa Monica pilates studio.
Yi was walking to the studio when she was hit by a woman brandishing a metal pole. The woman also stabbed her with a knife, according to local police.
The offender, who was taken into custody, had been reported missing in Fresno and was not on her prescribed medications at the time of the attack, police say.
The suspect was identified as 25-year-old Alexandria Diaz and has been linked to another pair of attacks.
Yi was taken to a hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
