U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra announced Wednesday he will run for reelection in 2022.

Feenstra, a Republican from Hull, has been expected to seek the seat in Iowa's heavily conservative 4th District, but he formalized his intentions this week. No other candidate, Republican or Democrat, has lined up to run against him.

"After we defeat Speaker Pelosi in 2022, we will enact a conservative agenda to end reckless spending, protect innocent life, defend our 2nd Amendment and restore America’s strength around the world," Feenstra said in a statement.

Feenstra, a former state senator, easily won his 2020 election bid after defeating then-incumbent U.S. Rep. Steve King in a contentious primary

He reported raising a total of $321,387 during the most recent fundraising quarter, including $275,030 from individuals and $111,125 from other political committees like PACs. He has spent $170,746 and ends the quarter with $634,909 in cash on hand.

Dozens of Iowa Republicans have endorsed Feenstra's reelection efforts, including U.S. Sens. Joni Ernst and Chuck Grassley, U.S. Reps. Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks, and others.

"Iowa's farm families know they have a true friend and strong conservative advocate in Congressman Randy Feenstra," Ernst said in a statement. "Together, he and I are working every day to defend Iowa agriculture and protect renewable fuel jobs. Randy has my full support.”
