Ferencvaros goalkeeper makes exciting Celtic comments

Going into the game against Ferencvaros, Celtic would have known that they needed a win to keep their hopes of qualifying for the Europa League knockout stage alive. And that is exactly what they got, with a goal from Kyogo and a scrappy own goal handing Ange Postecoglou’s side all three points.

To be honest, it certainly could have been more than the two goals that they scored on the afternoon. Callum McGregor missed his spot kick and there were several other good chances to score, which Celtic could not take.

But overall, the Hoops will be happy with the result. They are now building up some momentum with three wins on the trot. And it looks like they are finding their rhythm back as well.

As reported by Origo, Ferencvaros goalkeeper Denes Dibusz said after the game:

"“We couldn’t get the ball out, even if we had a pass, we couldn’t keep the ball, so we were under constant pressure to defend. We should be glad that this did not become a major defeat, because unfortunately it was included. We need to learn from this match because our home match against Celtic will be our last chance to get there in third place.”"

Celtic appear to be finding their rhythm back once again

Earlier in the campaign, Celtic went on a brilliant run of form when they won six games on the trot and outscored their opponents 24 to 4 during that period. Since then though, they have not quite looked the same.

After a poor run of form though, they appear to be finding their rhythm back once again. While they have not been nearly as free scoring recently, they have won three games on the trot.

Also, it looks like they are back pressing well too. In the middle of their poor run of form, it had started to look like that was not there either and the team was missing the same energy from earlier in the campaign. It goes without saying that relentless pressing is a huge part of Postecoglou’s style of football.

The returns of Kyogo and Callum McGregor from injury have certainly helped in that regard. Now, it is very important that they continue building on this momentum. They currently sit at fourth in the Premiership table and third in their Europa League group, and will be looking to improve on both fronts.
