The Texans may trade quarterback Deshaun Watson the Dolphins this week, according to veteran Houston Chronicle reporter John McClain.

"If the Texans and Dolphins are unable to consummate the trade this week, they want to get it done by the league's deadline," McClain wrote.

The deadline is Nov. 2. Miami faces Houston Nov. 7.

According to the Chronicle, negotiations have intensified.

According to a source close to Watson, the quarterback has long been attracted to the possibility of playing in Miami.

There are 22 civil lawsuits that have been filed against Watson accusing him of sexual assault and misconduct.

Watson has been held out of practice and games by the Texans. It is unclear if the NFL would step in if any team attempted to put him on the field this season.

Watson, 26, has a record of 28-25 in four seasons with Houston. He has a career passer rating of 104.5, as well as 104 touchdowns and only 36 interceptions.

Longtime Texans reporter Aaron Wilson, now at SportsTalk 790 and Mark Berman, sports director of Fox 26 in Houston, both also report Wednesday that the Texans are working to close a deal with Miami this week.

It seems coordinated and so while it seems likely Miami is heavily involved, it's always possible Houston is hoping to attract a last-minute offer elsewhere.
