Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff will return to Los Angeles this weekend for the first time since he was traded by the Rams this offseason for Matthew Stafford. Given the drama towards the end of his exit, Goff is going in with a bit of a chip on his shoulder.

Via Pro Football Talk:

“It’ll be fun to see all those people and it’ll be fun to be there and of course you’re motivated,” the Lions signal-caller said. “Of course you have the chip on your shoulder — I’ve spoken about that. There was some disrespect felt toward the end. There was some sourness toward the end. And you still feel that, you still have that chip on your shoulder.

“But at the same time, when the game starts, if I let any of that come into how I’m going to play the game, it would be selfish. And I’m going to play the game just how I would any other game. And to be honest, I’m not worried about feeling some type of way once the game starts. I really don’t.”

Before coming to the Lions, Goff spent the entirety of his NFL career with LA after they traded up to draft him in 2016. The relationship deteriorated in 2019 and 20′ because of his poor play and he was ultimately shipped off to Detroit. To be frank, Goff will simply be focused on getting the Lions their first win of the campaign. They're 0-6 thus far, with the QB throwing for 1,505 yards, seven touchdowns, and four interceptions. He's also committed six fumbles.

As for the Rams, they're clearly enjoying life with Stafford under center, compiling a 5-1 record. It should be interesting to see what type of reaction the fans will have towards Goff in Los Angeles.
