OP Games releases 'Monopoly: Schitt's Creek,' and it's glorious

"Schitt's Creek" more or less monopolized last year's 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards with a record-breaking sweep, so it's perfect that OP Games unveiled "MONOPOLY: Schitt's Creek" earlier this month.

"Regroup the family and your dignity to make your way up in 'MONOPOLY: Schitt’s Creek,' based on the hilarious Emmy Award-winning comedy series," the website's official description says. "Join the Rose family on opportunistic adventures as you buy, sell, and trade popular locations from the show, including The Rosebud Motel, Bob’s Garage, Herb Ertlinger Winery and more. Celebrate tongue-in-cheek victories with 'Hello You' and 'Love That Journey for Me' cards, while rent and taxes like Roland’s Truck and 'That’s Not a Write Off!' make or break your small-town struggle to come out as the richest little townie and win!"

Overall, October is treating diehard "Schitt's Creek" fans very nicely. In addition to getting the Monopoly treatment, series creators — and iconic father-son duo — Dan Levy and Eugene Levy's book "Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: The Story of Schitt's Creek" will arrive next Tuesday (Oct. 26) via Black Dog & Leventhal.

"Putting a book together was a daunting idea, specifically because I knew that I couldn’t just hand it over to anybody," Dan Levy told Variety for an exclusive published earlier this week. "The thing about the show is that it’s so personal and I think at this point means so much to me, but also so much to the fans, that we’ve got a bit of a predicament in the sense that we can’t do anything half-assed."

The 38-year-old actor, producer and writer added: "One of the things that I really wanted for this book was for people to see elements of what went into the show in a really clean and clear way. For example, the photo of the receipt that Patrick gives David for his birthday. We put in a very clear, close-up photo of that receipt as a way for fans to get a better look at elements of the show that they maybe only saw in passing."

"Schitt's Creek" starred Dan Levy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara and Annie Murphy as the elite yet lovable Rose family after bankruptcy lands them in small-town Schitt's Creek. Chris Elliott, Emily Hampshire, Sarah Levy, Dustin Milligan, Noah Reid and Karen Robinson also starred. The series ran for six seasons, concluding in April 2020.
