You spoilers follow.

You is finally back on screens for season 3 after a very delayed premiere due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused a lot of issues for the show about a murderous newlywed couple.

Penn Badgley, who plays the murderous Joe Goldberg in the hit Netflix hit show, explained to Entertainment Weekly: "There were significant rewrites throughout the whole season to try and negotiate around these scenes that would require a lot of people."

His co-star Victoria Pedretti, who plays Love Quinn, added: "I felt very lucky that they start off their relationships at odds with each other, navigating the awkwardness of being new parents, because it felt strange to be physically intimate very early on, even though we're supposed to be a married couple.

"It's weird. We have a rapport," she continued. "We played a couple before, but it didn't just immediately come back after being in a global pandemic."

Showrunner Sera Gamble added that if the show had started filming earlier in the year, they may even have incorporated the pandemic into it. "Maybe we would've been like, 'Joe in a pandemic wearing a mask is interesting,'" she said.

However, the idea was scrapped, with Gamble adding: "I think it helps that we were making something that was fun and that wasn't about what the news was that morning."
