The Saudi Arabian takeover at Newcastle United has sent shockwaves throughout the football world. The club is now expected to spend some serious coin in the coming months on new players. According to Goal, Barcelona outcast Ousmane Dembele is interested in a move to St. James when his contract runs out at Camp Nou next summer.

While Dembele isn't at the level of a Harry Kane or Kylian Mbappe, he is undoubtedly an intriguing talent. Extension negotiations have hit a stalemate with Barca with his agent refusing to respond to their offer of two or three more years. That being said, Newcastle could potentially be a good fit for the youngster.

The Frenchman made a name for himself while at Rennes before securing a move to Dortmund. After one season at Signal Iduna, Dembele went to Barcelona in 2017, scoring 18 goals in 81 league appearances for the Spanish giants since.

Newcastle surely needs to bring in more high-profile names in order to turn things around. There's no guarantee he'd be the answer, but when healthy, Dembele is a vibrant threat up top who has tremendous pace and skill.

The Magpies have already started their rebuild by sacking long-time manager Steve Bruce on Wednesday, with former Roma boss Paulo Fonseca and ex-Dortmund gaffer Lucien Favre emerging as the favorites to take over.

As for Barca, it would be a real blow if Dembele departed considering they spent €105 million on the striker.
