Leaked video shows Lisa Wilkinson's awkward last episode on the Today show alongside co-host Karl Stefanovic after he snubbed her vow renewal ceremony with husband Peter FitzSimons

A leaked video has shown Lisa Wilkinson's awkward final episode on the Today show with co-host Karl Stefanovic.

In the opening segment, which aired on October 16 2017, Karl opened the show by welcoming Lisa back from her honeymoon after she and husband Peter FitzSimons celebrated their 25th anniversary by renewing their vows. 

According to Lisa, Karl chose not to attend her vow renewal ceremony in Sydney, as he had extended his overseas holiday with now wife, Jasmine Yarbrough, instead.  

'We've got P!nk on today, just for Lisa and her honeymoon return, Lisa, good morning to you,' Karl said as he opened the show. 

'How good is that? It's so lovely to be back, and thank you to everyone for all your beautiful messages. We've had a fabulous honeymoon, but back to work today,' she responded.

Karl then asked Lisa where she had travelled to.

'We went to beautiful Byron Bay, because we love Australia,' she said, before noting that Today had been filming in the same area.

'And you guys were in the Tweed on Friday, We went to dinner at the place you guys were at next — we skedaddled out of there just before you guys arrived.'

'Nice to have you back,' Karl added, before continuing on with the news.

It comes days after Lisa lifted the lid on her final days working at Nine's Today show in an excerpt from her new book, It Wasn't Meant to Be Like This, published in The Sunday Telegraph.

She claimed Karl had given her the cold shoulder in the weeks prior to her sacking over a pay dispute.

She explained that she and her husband Peter had invited Karl and his partner, Jasmine Yarbrough to attend their 25th anniversary vow renewal ceremony in October 2017.

Two days before the event, however, Karl and Jasmine contacted Peter to say they wouldn't be attending the celebrations because they'd extended their overseas holiday.

'In the ten days since [the ceremony] Karl hadn't contacted me, his co-host of almost eleven years, at all. No phone message, no text, no apology, not even a simple congrats. Just complete silence,' Lisa alleged. 

After returning to work, Lisa claimed Karl did not ask her about her holidays, nor did he apologise for being a 'no-show at the wedding'. 

'For the next two hours, I exchanged not a single word with Karl outside of what was scripted – because for the first time, I just didn't trust myself to 'play nice',' she said. 

Lisa went on to say she was also 'quietly fuming' because 'nearly every interview that day was being done by Karl alone'.

'For two hours, I sat there feeling completely useless. The Today Show was now The Karl Show. What was the point of me even being there?' she added.
