2022 Kentucky Wildcats commit Kiyaunta Goodwin has reached 5-star status.

The formally consensus 4-star recruit is now rated as a 5-star prospect by 247 Sports, where he’s also the 13th-ranked player in the nation for 2022.

Goodwin, a 6-foot-7 offensive tackle from Charlestown (IN), ranks as the second-best offensive tackle in the nation for 2022, trailing only uncommitted Seattle native Josh Conerly Jr.

“[He is] much improved from last year,” Goodwin’s trainer Chris Vaughn told the Cats Pause.

“Last year, the concentration was really dropping the weight. This year, he is carrying a little more weight, but it is a lot more muscle now. He has gotten to the second level a lot better this year and improved his understanding in how to do that. I have been pleased with his improvement there.”

While still committed and expected to sign with Kentucky, Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports reports visiting Alabama this weekend while still having an official visit “locked in” with Kentucky.

He also may take trips to Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State.

If Kentucky can get Goodwin to put pen to paper come signing day, they will be getting one of the top 15 players in the nation to join their program.
