Tom Brady congratulates Aaron Rodgers on becoming a 'shareholder of the Bears'

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers take on the Bears on Sunday, so Brady has been studying the Week 6 Packers-Bears game in preparation. 

Brady spoke on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Wednesday about the game, and congratulated Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers on “owning” the Bears.

“I wanted to say congrats to Aaron Rodgers. Obviously a great quarterback, but I guess he’s now a shareholder of the Bears,” Brady said. “I saw a clip of him really enthusiastically telling the crowd how happy he is to own Soldier Field. That’s really great stuff. He owns the [Milwaukee] Bucks now, part owner of Soldier Field. He’s got a great career beyond football.”

Brady is referencing when Rodgers shouted, “I still own you!” after scoring a touchdown at Soldier Field last Sunday. The Packers won 24-14 over the Bears, moving Rodgers’ all-time record against the Bears to 21-5 during the regular season. 

Rodgers later said that he shouted this phrase to the crowd after he noticed a woman in the front flipping him off. With one of the most intense football rivalries in history, Bears fans don’t hold back their feelings for the 17-year Packers quarterback.

But, what teams does the 44-year-old Brady own? The host asked Brady whether he owns a stake in Buffalo; Brady is 32-3 against the Bills in his career.

“Not yet, not yet,” Brady said. “I want to settle for a few things less than that. I’m cool with owning just a few lucky autographs. That’s what I’m the owner of.”

Then, he asked him about the Jets; Brady is 30-8 against them. Brady didn’t hold back on his response to that question.

“Oh, no. I’ll just take the color green. I don’t need the Jets. I’ll just own the color green, I think that’s a little bit better.”

The Buccaneers play the Bears on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 4:25 p.m. ET.
