Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3: James Gunn Says Filming Has Not Yet Started

Yesterday, Chris Pratt shared the exciting announcement on Twitter that filming has already started for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which made fans delighted. But as it turns out, that is not the case at all (at least not yet).

Director James Gunn took to Twitter and clarified that filming for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has actually not yet started, but they are close to doing it.

However, Gunn confirmed that filming has already started for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, the upcoming roller coaster attraction that is set to open at Epcot at Walt Disney World next year.

In the following tweets, Gunn explained that Pratt was on the set for rehearsals and camera test (which was also his first day there so he wasn't wrong about that). He also confirmed that The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will be filming concurrently with the third film.

It is great that the director clarified the news before it blew off. But nevertheless, at least we know that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is getting closer to reality and we might hear the confirmation soon regarding its official start of filming date. Perhaps we should stay tuned to Gunn's Twitter page for any updates.

As of now, the plot details of the film are still under wraps. We do know that Midsommar star Will Poulter has been cast to play Adam Warlock. The core cast members are also expected to return. There are reports that Sylvester Stallone, Ving Rhames, and Elizabeth Debicki will be reprising their roles from the second film. Gunn has also hinted that there are other roles that have been already cast, but none of them have been announced or reported yet.
