Dying Light has come to Switch, but there is a problem - Germany hasn’t given it a rating. The zombie-action game originally came out back in 2015, but with the upcoming release of Dying Light 2, developer Techland has made an effort to allow all available platforms to get in on the action. And though Dying Light is now on Switch, Europe is going to have a bit of trouble getting their hands on it due to Germany’s ban.
As reported by Eurogamer, due to issues with Germany’s rating system, Dying Light is not yet available in the Nintendo eShop for Switch. The Platinum Edition of the game was missing from several country’s storefronts without explanation until Techland had to come forward and explain the situation.

The post on Reddit from a Techland spokesperson says: “If you're talking about the digital version, then due to nature of content the digital version of the game is currently banned in Germany where European e-Shop is officially registered. This is making it impossible to officially distribute the game in European countries and also in Australia and New Zealand. We are currently working with our partner and local authorities to remove the ban as soon as we can.

“The game is available digitally in the US and Asia, and the retail version is available worldwide (except Germany)”.
This is not the first time that Germany has had issues with the distribution of horror game sales. You may not have realised it but it was only in the last year that the country officially got the version of Left 4 Dead 2 that the rest of the world has been playing for over a decade. The restrictions there are harsh and so hopefully Techland can sort something out so Dying Light fans can get their hands on the game on the eShop.
