Reader Poll: Does Columbus want a chance to try McDonald’s new McPlant burger?

Jack McLaughlin

The long-awaited McPlant has officially arrived from McDonald’s. Well, sort of.

The highly-anticipated new sandwich, which features a plant-based patty designed with Beyond Meat, will be offered in U.S. restaurants beginning on Nov. 3. But there’s a catch.

The fast-food giant plans to test the new sandwich in a number of different U.S. markets, and Columbus isn’t one of them. The new menu item will be available in eight different cities across the country, including Irving and Carrollton, Texas, Cedar Falls, Iowa, Jennings and Lake Charles, Louisiana, and El Segundo and Manhattan Beach, California.

With the patty made from a combination of peas, rice and potatoes, the sandwich will be served on a sesame seed bun with tomato, lettuce, pickles, onions, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard and American cheese.

We want your thoughts, Columbus. Were you anticipating the new meat-free burger, or would you hard pass even if it was available here?
