First of six stripped-down versions of Dangerous songs is available now
Morgan Wallen tributes the memory we can’t drink away in a new performance video, releasing “865” as the latest installment of The Dangerous Sessions. The video drop marks the first of six soon-to-be released videos continuing Wallen’s original acclaimed series.
Directed by Justin Clough and filmed in his hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee, the clip finds Wallen putting a nostalgic sweetness on his celebrated sandpaper vocal and stripping down “865” to capture the emptiness of a broken heart.
Written by John Byron and Blake Pendergrass, the vivid track is part of Wallen’s record-smashing Dangerous: The Double Album, and now joins others such as “Sand In My Boots,” “Wasted on You” and more from his ongoing The Dangerous Sessions performance series.
Meanwhile, Dangerous: The Double Album is nominated for Album of the Year at the upcoming 55th Annual CMA Awards. However, due to Wallen’s use of the n-word earlier this year that banished him from the industry for a period of time, Wallen will not be allowed to attend the show next month in Nashville. His music has since resurfaced across radio airwaves as his new single, “Sand In My Boots,” is currently rising the country charts.
Wallen recently announced a return to the road with four sold out shows including Auburn Rodeo on October 23rd and then will light up Country Thunder Bristol on October 30th with Granger Smith (feat. Earl Dibbles Jr.), Larry Fleet, Jon Langston and Ernest.
Despite being blackballed, Wallen launched the More Than My Hometown Foundation, named after his fourth consecutive No. 1 single, over the summer. The foundation was formed to help children, adolescents and teenagers find families that can provide warm, loving homes that can rebuild their confidence, self-belief, and to feel forever loved, with a forever family.
