McLaren's Daniel Ricciardo shares that he is at peace with the possibility of never winning a Formula 1 world championship.

Ricciardo has won a total of 8 races so far into his career, with his most recent victory coming at Monza with ended McLaren's 9-year year win drought. The Australian is viewed as one of the most talented drivers on the grid but hasn't had the machinery to compete for a world championship quite yet.

The 32-year old bounced around the grid in the last 4 years, from Red Bull to Renault, and finally, to McLaren. He's hopped from team to team with hopes of finding a car to bring him to the summit of Formula 1. However, Ricciardo recalls his immatureness in previous years —instead of being bitter and mad at the world for his misfortune, he is now at peace with the possibility of never winning a world championship.

Speaking to F1's Beyond The Grid podcast, Ricciardo said: “There was a time where I was a little bit bitter, like, ‘I should have had a title by now, this sucks, why don't I, wrong place, wrong time', or this or that.

He ponders, “But maybe that's the growth in me or the maturity where I don't think that any more. I'm still here because I believe I can win a title and I want to win a title.” Ricciardo further reflects, “But I'm at peace with whatever happens, as long as I go out and leave it all on the track, I'll get fulfillment.”

There is no doubt that the Honey Badger is still in pursuit of his maiden world title, but only time will tell if he'll be able to fulfill his championship dreams one day.
