Watch this alligator climb a fence and then be afraid. Be very afraid.

We've seen the videos of alligators wandering up to homes and even ringing doorbells but until now we thought we were relatively safe inside our homes.

That may not be the case before long, if gators continue to adapt to our human ways. A woman in Florida (where else?) managed to video an alligator scaling a chain-link fence, putting one foot (paw? claw?) at a time into the spaces in the fencing, according to WATE 6 News in Tennessee.

The WATE reporter is doing a voiceover as the video plays, saying, "a gator scaled the fence naval air station in Jacksonville, Fla."

So what does it do when it gets to the top of the fence? "It does a belly flop on the grass then goes on its way."

Our question is: Are doorknobs next? Just keep the deadbolt on, is all we're saying.
