Ulster County home sales so far this year already surpass 2020’s as selling prices jump

KINGSTON, N.Y. – More than 200 homes have been sold in Ulster County in nine months this year than in all of 2020, as selling prices jumped, according to the Ulster County Board of Realtors.

Homes sales rose by 18.2%, according to the board. In 2020, 1,218 single-family homes sold as compared to 1,440 so far this year.

The average selling price increased by 17.8% during that nine-month period, going from $357,028 in 2020 to $420,769 this year.

Days on the market saw a 38.4% dip with homes listed in 2020 for 91 days as compared to 56 days this year.

September saw a 38.6% drop in sales, going from 215 in 2020 to 132 this September.

Average prices continued to rise – at 9% – going from $418,402 in September 2020 to $456,146 in 2021.
