A two-vehicle crash near Touchet led to injuries (Touchet, WA)

On Monday afternoon, two people escaped serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision near Touchet.

The incident took place on U.S. Highway 12 near Touchet. The preliminary investigation showed that Isabella Santos, of Spanaway, Washington, was driving a 2014 Toyota Corolla east towards Walla Walla at about 12:45 p.m. At some point, she slowed to allow a delivery truck in front of her to make a left turn.

David Moore, of Pendleton, was also going east in a 1998 Dodge pickup hauling a trailer. He was unable to slow as he approached Santos. Moore’s vehicle drifted to the left at the last moment and his trailer swung sideways and crashed into Santos’ car. Moore’s vehicle and trailer jackknifed in the roadway after the wreck. Traffic was closed in both directions for around 30 minutes before both vehicles were dragged from the scene.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
