The first of four days of searching Fort Worth lakes ended about 6:00 p.m. last night with five cars hauled out of Lake Como.

Three of the cars turned out to be stolen and two of those contained another surprise. A stolen pick-up contained two stolen ATMs while a car held another.

A volunteer group of divers has agreed to spend four days searching lakes in and around Fort Worth, looking for submerged cars and trucks.

The group called Adventures with Purpose says environmental concerns are among their motivations. Submerged vehicles leak any number of solvents and fluids into the water including gasoline, oil, brake fluid and coolant.

Today's search will be at Echo Lake near I-35 and East Berry. They'll begin at 9:00 a.m.
