Netflix's Halloween horror collection keeps expanding, this time with Night Teeth. The vampire thriller follows Benny (Jorge Lendeborg Jr, Spider-man: Homecoming) as a freelance chauffeur who winds up driving friends Blaire and Zoe (Debby Ryan and Lucy Fry respectively) around LA. Benny soon realises that his passengers are actually vampires and becomes a pawn in the power struggle between a rogue vampire trying to upend the hierarchy and the vamp establishment. He winds up working with the girls to stay alive.

The movie itself is campy and a bit ridiculous, but not without its moments. Megan Fox has a cameo as a vampire leader, and it's always fun to watch her in her element.

The film also stars Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones) and Raúl Castillo (Army of the Dead). Here's exactly what goes down in Night Teeth. Warning, spoilers follow.

Night Teeth starts with a preamble that explains how after a bloody struggle between vampires and humans, a truce was called in which vampires agreed to live in secrecy while humans moved on and knowledge of vampires faded. One key rule that vampires had to obey was not to trespass in the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Boyle Heights, which is protected by Jay Perez (Castillo).

The film itself begins with Jay and his girlfriend Maria, who are ambushed by a vampire named Victor (Allen) who has stepped outside his territory into Boyle Heights. He kidnaps Maria, starting a war between vampires and humans. Meanwhile, Benny (Jay's younger brother) is a student who hustles to make extra money to help out his grandmother, with whom he lives.

In order to get Maria back, Jay, who works as a chauffeur, gets Benny to cover for him and pick up two girls from a mansion in Beverly Hills. Meanwhile, Jay gets help from his fellow vampire hunters to rescue Maria.

Benny picks up Zoe and Blaire from a mansion and takes them to various nightclubs, but it turns out the two girls actually work with Victor and are helping him overthrow the current Vampire rulers so he can take over and also wipe out humans. They were meant to have taken Jay, but eventually realise that their driver isn't him.

Victor says they can make it work, not before killing another vampire queen Grace (Fox). Benny and the girls are soon attacked by another group of vampire hunters, Night Legion, and Benny takes them to his grandmother's house to lay low.

Meanwhile, Jay and his friend are summoned to a meeting with Jay. Zoe is getting cold feet, and tells Victor the night is going sideways but Victor tells her that going to Venice to kill Rocko will be their last kill of the night and after that they'll rule the city.

Benny and Blaire flirt and Blaire reveals that she feels like a misfit who fell under Zoe's spell in the '70s and then was turned by her into a vampire. At the meeting between Jay and Victor, he reveals his plan to take over the city (and probably the world?) and also that he's killed Maria and is eating her. Gross!

Zoe and Blaire head to the final kill in Venice, taking Benny along with them. They see Rocko (Alexander Ludwig, Vikings) who is definitely creepy and unpredictable, and who is already suspicious of their unannounced arrival.

Outside, Blaire and Benny kiss, while inside Zoe prepares to kill Rocko but fails and is jumped by Rocko's men. Blaire also tells Benny that Victor has Jay, right before they all flee Rocko's – having failed at the mission to kill him.

Before Benny can drive them away, Zoe is shot by one of the Night Legion who use special crossbows that can kill vampires. A full-on battle breaks out and Benny manages to escape in the car with the girls and they head to meet Victor.

Blaire asks Benny to take them to the mysterious 'last stop' on their list just as the sun is coming up. Benny says he has to go get Jay, but Blaire is afraid if he goes up against Victor he'll die (which is a fair assessment).

Benny pauses, unsure of what to do, and then goes back into the house where he finds a basement full of 'blood donors' – humans who have likely been kidnapped, including Jay, for their blood to feed Victor. Before he can free Jay, Benny is stopped by Victor.

He tries to make a deal, offering himself for Jay instead. Benny tries to stab him but fails. Blaire, however, jumps in to protect Benny. The girls fight, Zoe saying she doesn't want to do anything without Blaire.

Zoe stabs Blaire with the vampire hunting dagger. Before she can kill Blaire, though, Benny starts the car which he left outside the large windows of the house, and it careens through the window letting in the sun and killing Zoe.

Benny grabs the dagger, and Jay — having escaped somehow — tells Benny to run and that it's a trap but he's too late and Victor bites Benny's throat. Blaire, not dead yet, stabs Victor and Jay then tackles Victor into the sunlight, and he fries up instantly.

However, Benny has lost a lot of blood and so Blaire turns him into a vampire to stop him from dying. Jay and Benny meet for dinner. Jay says that everything has changed and a battle between humans and vampires is inevitable and they'll all have to pick sides. He then says 'don't forget where you came from' and as Benny stands to go, he reveals that he's left Jay a suitcase of money.

Back at University, Benny runs into two classmates who used to tease him, and then gets into a fancy car with Blaire. He puts on a pair of sunglasses in the dead of night (you know, as vampires do) and then teasingly offers his peers a ride.

Night Teeth is now available on Netflix.
