Coleta Jean (Doty) Gorrell

Coleta Jean (Doty) Gorrell, 66, was born February 19, 1955 in Sulphur, and passed away peacefully at home on October 14, 2021. She lived most of her life in Sulphur. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, doing puzzles, reading her Bible, playing with her cats and anything she could do in the water or at the park.

Coleta graduated from Sulphur High School in 1973 and went on to complete scrub technician training and an Associate Degree in nursing from Murray State College in Tishomingo. She worked as an RN for 25 years at various Hospitals including Arbuckle Memorial, Norman Regional, Veterans Hospital and ended her career as an agency nurse traveling all over Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Doty and Edith (Billings) Doty; her brother, Don Doty; his daughter, Michelle Leming, and his grandbaby, Addison Doty and her brother-in-law, Jerry Wade.

Survivors include daughter, Meredith (Gale) Crone and son-in-law, James Crone of Woodward; son, Daniel Gorrell, daughter-in-law Lori (Roberts) Gorrell of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Avery and Eli Gorrell; brother, Bob Doty and sister-in-law, Nancy Doty of Sulphur; sister, Glenda (Doty) Wade of Sulphur; sister-in-law, Becky (Kessler) Doty of Sulphur, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Oct. 22 at Crossway Baptist Church in Sulphur.
