Having scraped a win against Villarreal in their last Champions League outing, Manchester United could move top of Group F with victory at home to Italian upstarts Atalanta on Wednesday. The Reds currently sit third in the table, but trail their table-topping opponents by a single point after two matches. Ole Gunnar Solskjær shouldn’t expect an easy game, however, with Atalanta having qualified for the Champions League knockout rounds in each of the last two seasons.

United will be without former Atalanta starlet Amad, who joins Raphaël Varane and Anthony Martial on the treatment table. Fred and Edinson Cavani are both doubts. However, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is likely to start, after his ban was reduced to a single match. Atalanta will be without a number of important first-team players: Italian and German internationals Matteo Pessina, Rafael Tolói, and Robin Gosens join Hans Hateboer and Berat Djimsiti on the sidelines.
