The Jacksonville Jaguars finally ended their nightmare losing streak Sunday that dated back to Week 2 of the 2020 NFL season.

It was a thrilling win in London that saw Urban Meyer and Trevor Lawrence finally get a win in the NFL as a duo.

As expected, the Jaguars were fired up.

Meyer has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons as of late and described just how special the locker room was after the game even if it only improved the team to 1-5 on the year.

Meyer may have a flair for the dramatic by saying the locker room was as emotional as one following a national championship win.

However, the pressure was mounting for him to win and the entire team could finally let loose and be happy this season.

Slow And Steady Progress

The Jaguars were expected to be bad in 2021.

That is why they had the No. 1 overall pick in the first place.

Meyer just couldn’t seem to grasp that fact early on and seemed far too dejected following losses.

Perhaps that explains why he was so thrilled after the win.

While being too down after a loss is a bit much, acting like this after a win is a good thing.

Meyer should have his players fired up because they are not going to win many games this season.

The Jaguars are on track for a slow, and hopefully steady rebuild back to the postseason.

If he can keep explaining the task at hand without getting too high or low, everything should remain on schedule.

Back To Football

Meyer was desperate for his first NFL win in order to get some of the focus away from his off-the-field actions.

This win does not erase that story, yet it does help get the focus back to football.

The news cycle moves fast and now fans can discuss just how many wins Meyer’s team can get in 2021.

But as all football fans know, Meyer has a knack for finding himself in the headlines.

He is just hoping that happens due to a winning streak once his Jaguars return to action following a bye.
