Two crooks steal $1.2 million in gems hidden in Brooklyn jewelers trunk

Two men stole $1.2 million in gems from a jewelry dealer in Brooklyn on Friday afternoon, police said.

The brazen thieves swiped the loot from the trunk of the 67-year-old man’s car as he was parked on 47th Street near 15th Avenue in Borough Park at about 12:30 p.m., according to cops.

The crooks approached the victim as he sat in the driver’s seat, demanded he open his trunk then took two bags of jewels, police said.

The suspects fled on foot westbound on 47th Street, authorities said.

No arrests were made as of late Tuesday.
