WASHINGTON (WGME) — The U.S. Supreme Court has declined to stop the mandate that says Maine health workers have to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
Maine will start enforcing the mandate on October 29.
If health care workers are not vaccinated by that deadline, they could lose their jobs.
Governor Janet Mills says regular testing would not be nearly as effective at protecting people from COVID-19.

Those trying to fight the mandate have also lost legal challenges in the federal courts as well as the appellate courts.
