Tuscaloosa’s Community Soup Bowl plans to feed hundreds of families during the holiday season.
One of its biggest events is the Thanksgiving Meal Project, where they serve warm meals and give away food bags.
“We’re stocking up a little bit more just to be on the safe side knowing that things may get more difficult when the holidays come because we think we’ll be busier November and December,”—Susan Lavender, Community Soup Bowl Executive Director.
The bags contain a pre-cooked ham, cranberry sauce, instant boxed potatoes and much more. The organization looks for people to donate items for the project.
