The CW has pulled a slasher move on its horror reality series Killer Camp Season 2, yanking the series off the air. What happened? Will we see the rest?

In a surprising move, Deadline reports that The CW has pulled Killer Camp from its linear schedule, opting to replace it with repeat airings of Masters of Illusions instead. The season was only two episodes into its sophomore run when the decision by the network was made.

Killer Camp Season 1 was actually a U.K. production commissioned by British broadcaster ITV2. The CW picked it up for a second season, where it became a CW original series.

Why did The CW take Killer Camp Season 2 off the air?

Deadline does not give a legitimate reason for the network’s reasoning, but one can guess it has to do with the show’s poor ratings. While The CW isn’t exactly known for having stellar ratings, Killer Camp Season 2 launched with just 155,000 viewers and a 0.05 in the 18-49 demo, with the second episode attracting 164,000 viewers and a 0.03 in the demo.

For comparison, Season 1 of the show consistently had 400,000+ viewers per episode and a demo ranging between 0.12-0.14. This season took a drastic 69.23% decrease in the demo and 63.25% in overall viewers. That’s pretty significant, even for The CW.

How to watch Killer Camp Season 2

You can only watch the show via The CW app or website, and only the first two episodes are available. Sources tell Deadline that The CW will probably bring the show back to its linear schedule at some point, but when is unclear.

The decision is a little odd in general since it is Halloween season and feels like the best time for the series to run. Then again, there is more competition during the fall season. The network might opt to hold Killer Camp Season 2 over until next summer.
