Angel's Place helps families with children who have life-threatening illnesses
Angel's Place is making sure families of children with life threatening illnesses feel supported and loved. The charity provides respite care to families who have children diagnosed with illnesses like cancer.
5-year-old Mickey Podgurski has gone through 4 brain surgeries, 2 open heart surgeries and is waiting for another spinal fusion in December. Through all the sleepless nights at the hospital, his mother Heather says Angel's Place was there for her every step of the way. She says they offered emotional and mental support. They also brought her food, and brought Mickey toys and other goodies to help cheer him up.
"It's important to make things feel normal around you when the rest of the world around you feels like it's falling apart. Angel's Place pieced it back together for me several times. I'm going to cry, I don't know where we would be without Angel's Place," said Heather Podgurski.
Angel's Place is holding a virtual fundraiser this year. Go to www.angelsplacenola.org for more information or follow them on Facebook and Instagram.
