AUGUSTA — As hospitalization numbers of patients with COVID-19 continue to decrease, AU Health has updated its family presence practices for patients and families in AU Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Georgia.

Effective today, two individuals may now be at a patient’s bedside, as long as the patient does not have COVID-19 or is not severely immunocompromised.

All individuals must sanitize hands upon entry and continue to wear masks while inside the facility.

At this time, no changes have been made to the family presence practices at the medical practice sites. One support person may accompany a patient to clinic appointments.

HOW TO GET VACCINATED: COVID-19 has killed more than 30,000 Georgia residents. Don’t let yourself or your loved ones die from a preventable virus. COVID vaccines are free and widely available statewide without insurance or identification. To find a vaccination location or to schedule an appointment, visit https://dph.georgia.gov/covid-vaccine.
