There’s quite a web of player of the week awards and Will Anderson is still pulling them in Tuesday afternoon.
His four-sack performance at Mississippi State earned two national honors and another from the SEC but he wasn’t the only Crimson Tide defensive player to earn recognition from the 49-9 win in Starkville.
More Alabama football coverage: What’s the identity of this Alabama football team? Good question, apparently.

While Anderson was named the national player of the week from the Nagurski and Bednarik award organizations, fellow linebacker Henry To’o To’o was named national defensive player of the week by the Walter Camp Football foundation.
Anderson was also named SEC defensive player of the week for the third time. His weekly Bednarik award was his second of the season after also claiming it after the Ole Miss win.
For the Nagurski, Anderson is the eighth Alabama player to grab the weekly honor as the school produced finalists for the annual award 10 of the last 12 seasons. Jonathan Allen was the last from Alabama to claim the top honor in 2016.
To’o To’o impressed the Walter Camp group with his 13-tackle night in Starkville that included 1.5 for a loss.
