Dabo Swinney is the latest coach to be asked about his interest in the LSU job.
LSU athletic director Scott Woodward and coach Ed Orgeron agreed to part ways over the weekend. The announcement has coaches responding to the obligatory question by media outlets about the job.
Swinney, the Clemson coach and Pelham, Alabama native - made it clear there was only one place that has his attention.
“I’m a big time, coach? Wow! I made a big-time list? Wow,” Swinney quipped Tuesday. “Yeah, this is the only Death Valley I’m concerned about right here. That’s for sure.”
The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman included Swinney on a list of potential LSU targets, while AL.com has its own list of which Swinney was not listed.
Swinney, 51, is 144-35 with two national championships since taking over as Clemson’s head coach in 2008.
He isn’t the first coach to be asked about the job. On Monday, Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher also reacted to being linked to the job.
Clemson (4-2) travel to No. 23 Pitt on Saturday.
