Wanting to go for a fa-boo-lous adventure or a frightful evening ride?
KPTM has put together a list of houses in the Omaha area that have put the spook in spooky with their blood-sucking Halloween decorations!
1. For some kid-friendly and fun decorations, visit the house with all of the inflatables at 38th and California streets.
2. With about 300 to 400 trick-or-treaters every year at 7123 S 101st Ave. in La Vista, Josh Farrell now scares them with a skeleton pirate, skeleton horse-drawn carriage, and tombstones among other spine-chilling decorations.
The display runs through 10:30 p.m. on weekdays and 11:00 p.m. on weekends.
Farrell estimates 75 percent of his display is altered to make sure it withstands Nebraska's weather.
His reason for starting such an elaborate display? Simple! He loves Halloween!
3. Ever wanted to visit a house full of creepy crawlies? Jason Smith has made every arachnophobe's worst fears come true with his webby décor!
Located: South 152nd and Nina streets
Smith and his wife started decorating four years ago because they were empty nesters and thought it would be fun.
"It's a lot of fun!...There's a really nice community in town that gets excited and decorates for Halloween," said Smith.
4. Joe Wyatt had to build extra shelves in his garage to store all of his hair-raising, skin-crawling decorations.
Located at South 190th and Redwood streets, his giant skeletons are the favorites of on-lookers including his 2-year-old daughter, Wyatt said.
“The little one loves them. She runs over and hugs them like they’re her friend,” he said.
5. Trick-or-treaters who come to N 31st and Redick streets will not only be greeted by a candy shoot but also a graveyard with some silly skeletons.
Kathryn Wonder hasn't been doing Halloween decorating on the outside of her home for too long, but she has always had an obsession with the holiday.
She decorates the inside of her home with Halloween décor, but since the pandemic gave her some extra time on her hands, her family brought the festivities for all to see.
The Nightmare on Redick Street, 10362 Redick Ave, is sure to please every Halloween-enthusiast. It's equipped with a hearse and a graveyard with some notable characters like Dracula and Frankenstein digging their way out of their graves.
A giant pirate ship with pirate skeletons starts trick-or-treaters way to get their candy with fog and mermaid babies giving that underwater vibe.
On the way to the candy, little ghouls and goblins will meet skeleton mermaids and a trip to a Peter Pan inspired Nightmare Land with a stop to Bikini Bottom for some grilled Squidward.
Every horror movie buff will love this house's Hollywood-inspired décor! Located just off of 27th and Calvin streets, they have every character from Annabelle to Freddy Kruger to Jeepers Creepers sitting at a picnic table.
It even has a rack of limbs good enough to eat!
