Kelly Rowland Reacts to Viral Video of Her Run-In With Jay-Z: ‘I See My Big Bro All The Time!’
When Kelly Rowland and Jay-Z ran into each other at a movie premiere last week, Hov’s reaction was nothing short of iconic.
Last Wednesday, the two were both at the Los Angeles premiere of Netflix‘s “The Harder They Fall,” and a short clip of the two seeing one another made waves on the Internet and had fans smiling ear to ear, mainly due to Jay’s pure reaction of shock and joy at seeing Rowland.
Rowland responded to the viral attention the moment received on an Instagram Live by saying that she actually sees Hov pretty often. “Some things I will never understand,” Rowland said in response to a fan comment. “Like, I see my big bro all the time, but I guess you guys never see what we see? I don’t know.”
Jay wasn’t just at the premiere for an excuse to dress up for the night: He served as a producer on the Jeymes Samuel-directed film and contributed original music to it too. Though the soundtrack has not yet been released, snippets of his musical contributions to the Netflix film are present throughout the trailers. The most recent trailer previewed a collaboration between him and Kid Cudi.
Though Rowland might have been shocked at the viral attention her interaction with Hov received, the moment shows just how strong their decades-long friendship has been, given her friendship with Destiny’s Child bandmate and Jay’s wife Beyoncé.
