Bobby Portis quickly became a fan favorite for the Milwaukee Bucks after coming aboard in the 2020 NBA offseason, and for several reasons.

He has become one of the best sixth men in the league for the energy, passion, scoring, and spark he provides off the bench. Bucks fans instantly fell in love with BP from day one, and then when he re-signed on yet another team-friendly deal this past offseason. He is an integral part of the bench mob and was a major contributor to the Bucks’ first championship in 50 years.

At the end of the day, he is just trying to be 100 percent real and 100 percent of himself. He is a perfectionist when it comes to his craft and is always trying to get better, which is evidenced by his work ethic and competitive nature.

Everyone knows what Bobby Portis brings to the court for the Milwaukee Bucks, but what does he do on his day off?

When BP is away from the basketball court, he has many things that keep him busy. In a recent episode of “Days Off” from Whistle, fans got a closer look at some of the things that might come on his day off. One is working on the new release of his Under Dog clothing brand, which has skyrocketed in popularity since joining the Bucks and winning a title.

Another extracurricular activity BP likes to participate in is bowling. He is one of the best bowlers in the entire NBA. BP tends to have fun and unwind at the local bowling alley in his hometown of Little Rock, AR. When BP was in college at Arkansas, he was a local celebrity and liked to bowl at least once a week with his Razorback teammates. An employer at the local bowling alley referred to Portis as a good old down to earth young man who had a proper upbringing.

His mother deserves plenty of credit for this. With his not-so-great bowling form and his size 15 bowling shoes, Portis then spent the rest of his day with his mom both getting pedicures. This is a tradition that they have had the past couple of years together. Taking care of his feet is very important to Portis as this can only be beneficial to him while running up and down the court throughout the marathon NBA season.

With the Bucks having a shortened offseason after winning their first championship in 50 years, it was important for Portis to return home and spend as much time as possible with his mom. She was up a the crack of dawn every day at 3 a.m. to go to work and provide for her children.

Portis loves his mother. He also realizes the importance of hard work, which has paid off for him. His generosity and genuine care for kids, his family, and his friends are evidenced by his successful foundation and basketball camps for kids.

This is what Portis is all about. Most people don’t see the caring and generous side of him that his mother raves about. BP loves giving back, being around kids, and loves being himself on a daily basis. This is who he is and what he’s all about.

Once he is done playing basketball, he wants to travel the world, become a motivational speaker, and tell his success story to children everywhere.

There is no doubt that he will be just as successful at this, if not more than being an NBA player, once his playing career is done.
