Whatever we learned about the Warriors’ unbeaten preseason (5-0) and the Lakers’ 0-6 exhibition schedule should reveal itself Tuesday night when the teams meet in Los Angeles to open the NBA season.

Fresh off its only undefeated preseason in history, the Warriors will unleash Stephen Curry and a flurry of other 3-point shooters as they show off a long-distance arsenal that could set records if they maintain their preseason pace. Golden State averaged 53.2 3-point attempts per game during its 5-0 preseason, a pace that would break an NBA record.

Curry picked up where he left off a year ago with a dazzling display in the preseason, capped off last Friday by scoring 41 points on just 19 shots in 30 minutes against Portland. Until fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson returns from an Achilles injury sometime in December, Curry will be running with Jordan Poole, who has served notice he’s ready for a big season after averaging 21.8 points in just 22.7 minutes during the preseason.

Meanwhile, the Lakers are still experiencing growing pains as they try to integrate All-NBA point guard Russell Westbrook into what they believe will be a championship-level equation. Coming off a monster year in Washington, Westbrook has struggled so far in L.A., shooting just 25 percent from the field and averaging more turnovers (6.7) than assists (5.0).

Of course, they won’t be much cause for alarm should the Lakers struggle out of the gate. LeBron James, after all, has yet to win an opening night game with the Lakers.
