Travel-Industry Restaurant Workers Secure $275,000 Wage Deal

A $275,000 settlement between HMS Host Corp., a nationwide highway and airport food-service company, and nearly 125 employees who alleged various Fair Labor Standards Act wage violations received approval from a federal judge in Maryland.

The class members, who were employed as quick-service restaurant workers, warehouse runners, and tipped servers, will split about $138,000. The six named plaintiffs will receive $13,000 total in service awards.

Class counsel will receive $130,000 in attorneys’ fees and $7,000 for litigation costs.
